How to create your Telegram account

You log in to chattwin with Telegram, and your bot is created from your account. If you don’t have one yet, it takes a few minutes on your phone.

What you need

  • An Android phone or an iPhone.
  • A phone number that can receive texts.
  1. 1. Download Telegram

Search for “Telegram” on the App Store if you have an iPhone, or on Google Play if you have Android. It’s free. Check that the publisher is Telegram FZ-LLC, so you don’t install a copy.

The links are also on telegram.org/apps

  2. 2. Enter your number

Open the app and tap the button to get started. Choose your country (the code fills itself in) and enter your phone number.

  3. 3. Enter the code you receive

Telegram sends you a code by text message, or sometimes with a call. Type it into the app. If it also asks for an email address, add one: Telegram uses it to send you login codes later on.

  4. 4. Add your name

It’s what people you talk to see. It can be your stage name, and the photo is optional. Your bot doesn’t use it: you choose its name in chattwin.

  5. 5. Hide your number

So nobody you talk to can see your phone number, go to:

    1. Settings
    2. Privacy and Security
    3. Phone Number
    • Under “Who can see my phone number?”, choose Nobody.
    • Under “Who can find me by my number?”, choose My Contacts.

On Android, Settings is in the menu at the top left. On iPhone, it’s at the bottom right.

  6. 6. Create your @usernameOptional

In Settings you can choose a username. You don’t need it to log in, but it lets the team message you if they need to check the profile is yours.

  7. 7. Log in to chattwin

Come back here and tap “Log in with Telegram”. Telegram will ask you to confirm it’s you and, the first time, we’ll ask for your stage name and your VipRoom nickname.
